Hi everyone,
Off to Prague on the 27th for three days.
11 of us staying at the hotel Halkova.
Can anyone advise me of the actual distance from the old town area and the nightlife and what would we be looking to pay in a taxi from the airport to the hotel?
Cant wait,
Hooty.

I assume %26quot;Halkova%26quot; is the name of the street where the hotel is?
Airport taxi: Since there are so many of you travelling together the best option is to book CEDAZ - a fixed-price minibus shuttle.

The distance from the hotel to the old town Square is something like 1500m.

there is indeed a hotel halkova on halkova street near ip pavlova. halkova is 10 minutes walk from wenceslas square and there are good pubs down both ve smeckach street and krakovska streets which are the two streets to take running from the hotel to wenceslas square.
taxi to the hotel will be about 600 crowns per taxi. it will be cheaper for 8 of you to pay 960 crowns and hop into one of the cedaz minibuses which you will see outside the airport door (960 crowns is for the whole minibus) and then for the remaining 3 of you to take a taxi, than it will be for you to hire 3 taxis

Thanks to both of you for taking the time to answer my queries.
Its just a question of how much czech money to take over now and where to spend it wisely (mainly on beer i might add!).

Prague airport shuttle took 10 of us from the airport to our hotel (up beside the castle) and return in a minibus which could seat 12/14 people.
It cost 3000 crowns for the return journey, check out the reviews on this forum, for some more info.
Nice to be all together, perhaps you could negotiate a cheaper price!?
you%26#39;ll love Prague, btw.

In general what kind of money am i looking at for a good weekend.
In crowns or sterling, it does%26#39;nt matter really!
