Prague hotel and airport transport

Would anyone care to provide comments on the Ventana Hotel? Nice, clean, good value, good breakfasts,etc?

Also what is the best transport from airport to hotel? Is cost about the same or slightly more than a taxi?

Depends how much luggage you have and how many people travel together .

If there are only 2 of you and have no heavy suitcases and willing to walk some 500m to your hotel the best option is Cedaz Scheduled Shuttle:

AAA Taxi (yellow taxis) airport-hotel will cost you about 450 CZK.

Ventana is very well located in the pedestrian zone of the very Old Town. I would ask for a room in the higher floors, as the city is full of tourists also at night and sleep can be a problem. The best room is a handicapped room on the thrid floor that overlooks the square and the tower, just fabulous. Or the rooms facing the Tyn Church. Depending when you come, in summer be aware that the doublex suites under the roof get very hot.

Hotel transport is nice, as somebody is waiting for you, helps you with the luggage and welcomes you in a foreign country. AAA taxi are at the Airport too, they will cost aroung 500 CK depending on the traffic.

the yellow AAA taxis you will see oustide the airport door should charge you a fixed price of 510 crowns to the centre where the ventana is. the grey fix taxis you will also see outside the airport door cost slightly more, but if there are no yellow taxis, hop into a grey taxi. the cedaz shared minibuses which may drop people off before you are not much cheaper than a taxi, so I would advise getting in a taxi as it is quicker

AAA taxis charge a trip by the meter, also the yellow airport ones.

Warning! Be sure to give the taxi driver the Stupartska address to the hotel, some companies (who shall remain nameless) have been known to drop off at the bottom of Celetna and make the people walk to ther hotel.

You must go to Ungelt across the street if you like Jazz and/or Blues

There is a review of Ventana hotel called %26#39;A room to die for%26#39; - that is the room I was referring to. The view is fabulous.
