Prague is just a place, like any other. It%26#39;ll have its problems, as well as its selling points.
On my second trip out there, i had an ok grasp of the geography and an idea of what to expect. I know that if you do your recearch, you%26#39;ll have a much better time becuase you%26#39;ll BE PREPAIRED! one of these ways is to look at most of this forum.
i took almost all the currency i needed with me, a first in my case, but used my credit card in the machines if i need more. i know i got charged a few quid, but i felt safer doing that.
I knew that all the waiting staff would be surly and rude, which meant i was pleaseantly surprised that nearly half were very friendly and tollerant of my dodgy few words of czech.
I expected crowds, but knew and found that the best parts of the city are often the quietest - the small winding streets, Petryn hill and south of the hill. I knew there were some crime problems, so i didnt carry much in the way of valuable or cash, and kept them in inner pockets where i could, not counting out 30,000 krouna in the street or speaking loudly in english.
the archetecture was incredible, very very beatiful, the food generally excellent, the beer of a high standard and much cheaper that the UK, the shopping interesting, varied and well priced away from the centre.
The loo roll was a little rough, the tap water is fine, but tastes a little harsh, but bottled is very very cheap.
dont forget, life has ups and downs, and while i had a slightly bad time on my first visit, there were good moment too. i was well prepaired this time and fully enjoyed a complex but beatiful city.
thanks for everyone%26#39;s help on here, and if anyone has any questions about my trip please feel free to ask!

using a ATM with your Debit / switch / maestro / cirrus card (whatever you call it) is cheaper than taking money out of an ATM with a credit card

Hi all!
in the end, i didnt go to Dresden, i%26#39;d forgotten what a nice city prague can be for walking, although the main roads can be a little polluted, so i simply wandered for a few days!
I visited the Se.x Machines Museum, which wasnt as seedy as it sounds, actually being interesting and structured in a mature adult (if you%26#39;ll excuse that use!) way, being more funny and slightly disturbing than arousing in any way.
The Mucha Gallery/Museum was exellent, this guy was an artisistic genous!
We also went to see a black light show - the dreams of Dr Frankenstien - which was technically good, but not that great theatre to be honest, Alice in Wonderland, at the theatre in the old town was better for me.
The SMM was 250k (£5/$10), the Mucha Gallery was 150k (£3/$6) i think, and a student theatre ticket was 300k (about £7.50, $15).
