Hi,
I%26#39;m interested on S apartment at Residence Belehradska 35. I saw it has very good reviews, but I don%26#39;t know what to think about the area where it is located. Is it far from the center and from the tram station?
I also don%26#39;t know if the second building where S apartments are located looks ok. If some of you stayed there, could you tell me you find disturbing the fact that the apartment is located at ground floor, and not on the first o any other floor? I read that the windows won%26#39;t open... Is t true? The bathroom and the kitchen of the apartment look ok?
Thanks a lot.

I am olso considering this place for septembem. reviews seem nice.
also wanted to know more about the neighbourhood.
is it to far to walk to old town?
is it safe to walk back to the flat at night?
is it a lively neighbourhood, with people, families on the street all time or more of a deserted periferical area?
thanks for all

The neighborhood is residential, the street in front quite busy. The walk down town would take half an hour, or you walk ten min to the tram, it is only a few stops to the city. I would not walk there at night. I have had a look at the famous Arcadia residence and that is closer to the tram, same area. (Wanted to know why it is so popular on TA.) They also have quite affordable appartments down town.

Hi
I stayed there with four friends six weeks ago.
There is a tram stop directly outside the building - a 6 or 11 tram takes you to the center in about 10 mins. Very cheap and easy to navigate.
I would say it%26#39;s a longish walk, and not one I would do late at night, but we got the tram back every evening without a problem so no real reason to walk. We would get the 6 tram to the stop outside Tesco%26#39;s (I kid you not to any British readers!) and walked to the old town from there. Simple. The fares are so cheap there%26#39;s no benefit of walking past a certain point ie the interesting things to look at.
Once you work out your directions Prague is an easy city to walk around.
One tip is make sure you get/buy your tickets during the day for your return journey as finding a place to buy them is the devil%26#39;s own business at night! And you%26#39;ll need coins fior the ticket machines. The little shop opposite Residence Belehradska 35 sells tram tickets so it%26#39;s easiest to get them there.
There is a supermarket just up the hill for most things ( 5mins or so walk) and a couple of small shops opposite for basics too.
The people who work in the building/at reception are very pleasant and helpful. The building and apartments are clean and the building is very secure.
We stayed in apartment A5 which I could recommend (faces the rear of the building). We also looked around apts N1 to 4 while there, which I could also recommend.
My issue with staying at the front of the building would be the noise of the tram clanging by.
I wouldn%26#39;t call it a busy street with lots of people walking around. Just those waiting for the tram or walking home or whatever. The immediate area is really very local ie no herds of tourists or anything to do.
However, considering the facilities and prices at Residence Belehradska 35, it%26#39;s worth it for the sake of a 33p (approx) tram fare.
HTH Let me know if you have any other questions I might be able to aanswer.

Thank you all for your answers,
The question about returning at night to the apartment is because we imagine that in some nights we would like to stay out until late in bars or jazz clubs. So it%26#39;s kind of important for us to know if the place is safe for us to go by tram or bus at night, or if we would spend a lot of $$ on taxis.
in fact, in Brazil (I don%26#39;t know if everwhere else) when we say someone is Bohemian, that means that they like to stay out till late with beers and music , so we are kinda of in a Bohemian spirit for prague.
I cheked out Martina%26#39;s sugestion of the Arcadia residence . Looks nice but the price on the page is a bit higher and they didn%26#39;t answer my email :-( Neither did castle steps

I would add that whenever I emailed Residence Belehradska 35 they were always quick to reply.
While this might seem like an obvious point, as someone who had rented apts etc in many countries it%26#39;s a real red flag for me when the owner is hard to get a hold of and doesn%26#39;t seem keen to respond to prospective clients.

the area around belehradska is as martina says residential and safe. one thing to mention. a tramline runs down belehradska day and night. unless you have a high floor bedroom or one at the back, light sleepers may find problems.
3 or 7 day public transport tickets can be bought at the airport when you arrive. as ebabe69 says, you cannot actually buy tram tickets on trams
