Hi All,
I will be going to Prague for 4 nights, Chesky Krumlov 1 night and Budapest 4 nights. I URGENTLY NEED HELP to identify reasonable Hotel / Hostel%26#39;s (equipped with lift !! so we dont have to heave your luggage up the stairs) at these places, at rates of 45 Euro and below for a double room ?? possible ?? Any suggestions is most welcome as we are not familiar with the places at all.
Thanks

I found hotels for your budget at www.booking.com but for a good hotel outside the centre at a rock-bottom price you could stay where I stayed, Golf Hotel. at www.bookinhotels.com, for about 25 Euro a night. It has 3 stars but looks more like a 2-star. It is along tram-line 9 from the centre, last tram at about 00.20 min. after midnight, between tramstop Hotel Golf and the next one., on the left on a small hill. The room is adequate, rather old, but quietly located, nothing wrong with it.
It has an elevator, rather small and old, but works. The breakfast is not much, surely not comparable with what one gets in Asia. It%26#39;s a hotel where tour-groups stay , like from Poland and also Holland, so it can%26#39;t be too bad, but these are budget-holiday tours. It%26#39;s not a hotel that you will gladly remember except for it%26#39;s very low price. For me it was quite OK. The last night I stayed in Prague%26#39;s best hotel (Aria) but 10 times more expensive. If you come to Prague just for the sights and don%26#39;t care about luxury, this hotel Golf is surely OK.

sorry, I saw on www.bookinhotels.com that Hotel Golf is 55 Euro a night, more than twice what I paid through my Dutch travel agency.
I will search for a cheaper way to book it.

Now I remember why I got it cheaply. I paid no surcharge for single use, so couples pay double as what I paid.
but at www.booking.com or may be www.priceline.com you can find good deals.

When will you be in Prague? Soon, Sep or Oct that%26#39;s high season? Then the following will not help you but if you are going later than that (= low season approx. mid November to mid March except holiday time) you could get even a nice 3* hotel in city center. e.g. last January I stayed at such 3* hotel in Mala Strana area for €33 for a double room, breakfast included, had elevator. The same hotel charges about €80 %26amp; € 50 in high season and mid season respectively so knowing when you are going is important.

Try Pension 2000 www.gtsincoming.cz. I stayed here last year for €30 per night. This is a lovely Pension approx 4 mins walk from Old Town Hall. Buffet breakfast is included in the rate. It is not the Ritz but it is clean and comfortable. It is central (walking distance from all the sights)

Hi All,
Thanks for the suggestions, my equally-as-lost friend and I are will be in Prague from 26th till the 30th, then we take a train to chesky krumlov, stay for 1 night. We will %26#39;train%26#39; back to Prague and hop onto another one to Budapest where we will stay for 4 days !!! I hope that we are not being too adventurous with the schedule !!! and knowing us women... we are bound to somehow find things to shop !! By the way suggestions of WHAT %26amp; WHERE %26amp; Do%26#39;s %26amp; Donts are most welcome !!!!
I will checkout the few hotel suggestions, our purpose is to sightsee and shop so a simple clean hotel would be sufficient.
More suggestions are most welcome !!! I%26#39;ve been searching the websites and there are so many hotels/hostels its confusing !!!!
: ) Thanks.

45 euros doesn%26#39;t buy you much. hotel golf is out of town but near a tramline which takes you to the centre. there is nothing nearby in terms of restaurants. look at the two Quality hotels which may be better (both again out of town) or the Hotel Duo (but do not know if this is 45 euros).
On transfer from cesky krumlov to budapest, instead of going back to prague, taking the daily lobo shuttle from cesky krumlov to linz and then travelling via vienna is much quicker
