I recently booked a reservation at the Lyzarska Bouda in Pec Pod Snezkou through the JSC Travel agency in Prague. Web site is
http://www.travelinczech.com/.
The room had to be prepaid a month in advance, and I made arrangements for this. My credit card was charged for the room.
Upon arrival at the hotel, I was told that they did not know about any reservation and that there was no room prepared. I ended up having to find alternative accommodations.
When I arrived home I contacted JSC and they said that the hotel gave a different account of what happened and they told me that my money would not be refunded.
Although I would have stayed at the hotel if a room had been available (if for no other reason than it was paid for), the general condition of the hotel was very bad. The dining room and bar were filthy. It was raining on the day I arrived and there were wet dogs running all through the dining area, bar, and places where food was handled. I did not see any guest rooms, so I cannot comment on the cleanliness or quality of the rooms.
I am happy that the room was cheap ($15 per person per night) so I lost only $60. However, there are much nicer accommodations--I stayed at the Penzion Zacon for only $17.50 per person per night. It was spotless, breakfast was amazing, and it was very private. The proprietor was fabulous.
Beware of JSC Travel AND Lyzarska Bouda. Under no circumstances should you prepay for any of their services.
Otherwise, I had a wonderful trip in the Czech Republic. Other arrangements were made through Mary%26#39;s Travel (http://www.marys.cz/about_us/). That service is wonderful and I would recommend it.

UPDATE--after much back and forth JSC Travel refunded my prepayment. They still maintained that I was not truthful in my account of the situation, however, I consider it a lesson learned.
