Merkur Hotel

What%26#39;s known about this hotel? Amenities, location, etc.

All the reviews I%26#39;ve looked at were from people having stayed there years ago, nothing redcent. Once submitted as late as 2005 and some mentioned that the location of this hotel is not so desirable. Something about prostitutes, adult toy shops, and drug dealers.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

hotel central hosts many stag parties. if you are not one of them, stay elsewhere. merkur is a basic hotel 15 minutes walk from the centre. the walk is not the most picturesque, but it is safe, there is an adult shop 200 metres from the hotel, but you don;t need to go in it. i personally could not spot a drug dealer if asked, and walking down the street regularly, have not spotted many. only thing you need to bear in mind is that there is a tramline outside the hotel so you need a room at the back if you are a light sleeper.

hotel axa, opra, ibis old town or the best western billa labut are in the same area and give an alternative if you need
