Good day to all. I will be in Prague for 5 days in October.
Does anyone know of a reputable limousine company that would pick us up at the airport, be with us for about 3 hours, then drop us off at the Renaissase Marriott?
Thanks in advance for anyone%26#39;s help.

people like www.mike-chauffeur.cz can do this, or you can talk to people like www.prague-airport-shuttle.com. the renaissance has its own drivers so can also provide assistance
what are you going to be doing / where are you wanting to go between the airport and the renaissance for 3 hours to need a driver for that long?

We arrive in Prague at 10:30 a.m. The check in is at 3:00 p.m. Since I do not know the city, I thought maybe a driver could drive us around the city, take us to lunch, then bring us back to the hotel.
When we arrived in London about two years ago, we were dead tired, and had to wait in the hotel lobby for about 4 hours before our room was ready.
I%26#39;d rather be driving around than to sit in a hotel lobby.

pointless. if your flight lands at 10.30, then with the speed of prague baggage handlers and prague traffic, it will probably be 12.00 before you reach the renaissance. It may well be at this time that the hotel has a room available. You should also warn them that you will be coming at that time and request that you have an early check in. if the hotel is not full, more times than not, you should check in. for example; I arrived at a hotel last week at 9am, having advised them that I would and they made sure that they had a room available because they were not full.
even if you do arrive at a hotel and the room is not ready, there is no point in sitting in the hotel lobby for 4 hours. pack something in the top of your luggage that you can change into from your flight clothes, change into them in the restrooms where you can also freshen up and then leave your luggage at the concierge to be put in the room when it is available and spend 4 hours exploring the city you have come to see.
to spend 3 hours paying someone to drive you around prague when most of the places you want to see are in pedestrianised streets is a waste of money. you can ask the driver to take you by the castle on the way to the hotel, as in fact, this is probably the quickest way to go

Wow! Thanks for the advise. I just went on the Marriott%26#39;s website and the hotel is located 5 minute walking distance from the Old Town Center. I am sure we can manage a 5 minute walk!
I didn%26#39;t realise these areas were only Pedestrian. I better do some more homework.

marriott should be able to check you in at 12.00 noon. if they don%26#39;t, they have good large washrooms to change in. round the corner from the hotel is a good czech restaurant called celnice which is a good place to start for lunch. even if they didn%26#39;t have a room at 12.00, it would be odds on they would have one by the time you had finished lunch.
if you were picked up at the airport by the marriott driver (reserve through the concierge), he could ring the hotel ahead and see if your room is available. then you would know the score before arrival.
hotel is indeed less than 5 minutes walk to the old town and so is well located

Thank you so much Peb17 for all your advice. We will check that restaurant out. I want to eat traditional Czech food. I will get in touch with the concierge to see about the transfer from the airport to the hotel.
I see you are a Prague Expert. I am arriving in Prague 3 days before we are to join a Tour. The Tour will take us to Hradcany Castle, the Old Square (I guess to see the Astronomical Clock), and Charles Bridge. Are there other places that are %26quot;must sees%26quot; that are not included in this tour?
I saw there was a Museum of Torture that is a bit cheesy but my husband might enjoy that. On second thought, maybe I shouldn%26#39;t give him any ideas....jejeje.
Thanks for everything.

if you are in prague for 3 days before joining a general tour you may find the tour a waste of time - you will have seen everything. spend one day in the castle area and another day in the old town. on the third day, go and see things which take your fancy on the first two days including perhaps going up petrin hill and to the strahov monastery.
museum of torture instruments is cheesy. only useful for revengeful wives who wish to take notes
