We are staying in the janacek riverside apartments. Any recommendations for a nearby restaurants would be much appreciated thanks lol mary.

Where are Janacek riverside apts?
If they are in Mala Strana area I can recommend Jo%26#39;s Bar which is on the left hand side of Malostranske Namesti (with your back to Charles Bridge) across street from the side of St Nicholas Church.
OK, its not authentic Czech BUT the food is excellent, huge portions and very reasonably priced. The beer is v good and the lady barpersons are very scenic.

around the corner is the green smichov theather. behind the theather is the 14. Rijna square. off the square, right on the corner of Preslova street is a great czech restaurant: Smichoske Radnicy Sklipek. Beer is around 21 CzK food around 200. Have been eating there at least ten times, never been disappointed.

Hi Alan,
My recommendation would be to get a copy of the Prague Post newspaper. It%26#39;s English language and mostly aimed at Expats living in Prague. It has a section of restaurant reviews where they sort them by price range and then give marks out of 5 and a few comments so you get an idea of the place. Of course it%26#39;s their opinion and they have favourites, but if you stick to places they give top marks to you can bet it will be decent or above.

janecek apartments are in prague 5 which is not the new town. on vitezna streeta about 15 minutes walk away are two good mid priced restaurants - the pub / restuarant, olympia and almost next door, cafe savoy
