Breakfast or patisserie to go - is it possible?

We%26#39;re staying room only at the Crown Plaza Castle Hotel.

Any suggestions for breakfast..............even a baker%26#39;s shop where we could buy bread etc for a picnic, we%26#39;re close to the park.

|||

Best breakfast is Cafe Savoy in Mala Strana

|||

you are not close to the park. crowne plaza is over one kilometer from the nearest metro station - you need tram and metro to get anywhere. halfway down the main street between the hotel and the metro is a large delvita (soon to be renamed billa) supermarket where you can buy bread, fruit, water and most other provisions you need. it is about 15 minutes walk from the hotel on the same side of the street as the hotel

|||

Hi guys, thanks for your quick replies........actually we%26#39;re right next to the old monastery courtyard..........at the crowne plaza CASTLE hotel.

Any other suggestions would be thankfully received.

cheers

sorry. my comments were based on the other crowne plaza hotel. crowne plaza prague castle is near the strahov monastery. there is a small general store on pohorelec street which is the main street nearby and some cafes on nerudova street which is the main street walking down to the castle from the hotel.

thanks Peb 7, will look there!

Will post report if we find anything.

You might have to take a tram to eat breakfast out. Get the 22 or 23 and stop at Malostranska and walk to Cafe Gourmand for pastries (U lužického semináře 23).

Or you can continue on the 22 and 23 tram to Ujezd for a greasy spoon or bagel at Bohemia Bagel (Ujezd 16), and as previously mentionned, Cafe Savoy, also from Ujezd tram stop has the best breakfast options in the area (Vítězná 5).

If you are organised to buy you baked goods in advance, you will see Paneria bakery shops in Old Town which sell very nice pastries.

Whilst you are there, I strongly recommend the restaurant Bella Vista behind the Strahov Monastry for dinner if the weather is good. It has a fantastic view from the terrace.

|||

fantastic view at bella vista but the food does not match the view. if you go with these expectations, the view is one of the best in prague. Bakeshop on lazenska street near the bottom of the charles bridge (but 20 minutes walk at least from the crowne plaza) is also good for lunch and breakfast.

almost next door to bella vista is the klasterny pivovar - great czech beer hall with their own brew and also decent staple food

|||

Peb, are you sure the Bakeshop is still there? I thought it closed and a Boho Bagel is now is it%26#39;s place? (Bohemia Bagel still good for breakfast) Or am I confused?

|||

have not been to bakeshop on Lazenska for a while so the premises may have changed hands. I thought Bohemia Bagels on the castle side of the river was on ujezd, unless they now have a third outlet

|||

thanks everyone, we%26#39;re home now and certainly not hungry!!

Best place was actually almost under our noses, yes, you guessed it Peb7, klasterny pivovar - they do snacks which are lovely for brunch, actually we went back again for dinner too, the food, atmosphere and friendly staff make this place a real winner!

Almost ate at Bella vista, however it was closed............weather not good enough they told us...........lucky escape, perhaps.

cheers to all for the info, invaluable as always.
