Hello.
Hopefully staying in Hotel Julian (Elisky Peskove, Prague 5) in the Lesser Town area from 17th to 22nd July. I%26#39;ve read good reviews about the hotel but wondering about the dining possibilities around there? Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions please? Would prefer some local menus if possible. And near the river would be nice!
Thanks a lot.

1. Cafe Savoy, great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
2. Olympia (next to Savoy on Vitezna)
3. Zlaty Had (specialized in wine and steak) Plaska 4
4. La Bastille on Ujzed
5. Bohemia Bagel on Ujexd
If you go a few blocks in the opposite directon, just past the Novy Smichov mall, there is a new TGIFridays (much cheaper than the center). A better (non-American) choice is across the street -- Potrafena Husa (The Wounded Goose) which is an upscale Czech pub, also bit Americanized. And there is a new, big Mexican place across the street, but I haven%26#39;t tried that.

I like cafe Savoy and olympia on Brewsta%26#39;s list. Cantina on Ujezd is also good, but you need to book

Brewsta and Peb -
Thanks a lot to you both for your restaurant tips. They will be very helpful and we%26#39;re looking forward to trying them in a week or so.
Cheers.

I really enjoyed Bohemia Bagel quite a bit. I went there twice for a quick, inexpensive lunch. The bagel sandwiches were very good and even thought the fries that accompanied them were pretty greasy, they were greasy in kind of a good way :^). I really enjoyed the free self serve refills on soda that was available. Free drink refills are common in America, but not so common in Europe - I really appreciated it because it was quite hot when I was visiting. I like the atmosphere as well. It is an internet cafe, and there were plenty of young people planning their travels, using the internet. The atmosphere was friendly, casual and %26quot;funky.%26quot; For an American, at least, this felt a little bit like %26quot;home%26quot; in a far away place and the food was inexpensive and satisfying. I recommend it.
