Looking for recommendation for a tour to Cesky Krumlov from Prague in May. We will be 6 adults. Need to do one day tour as we are only in Prague for a week and have already paid for accomodations. Thank you.

There are numerous options with a variety of tour lines, including Grayline. However, it%26#39;s quite a long trip, 2 1/2 - 3 hours so you won%26#39;t have much time there on a day trip. I think the tours I%26#39;ve seen are scheduled for 9 hours total which will only give you 3 hours or so there. While it is quite a small town, each of the castle tours, which are very much worthwhile, take about an hour. If you say 1 to 1 1/2 hours for lunch, that%26#39;s about all you%26#39;ll be able to do, castle tour and lunch.
I%26#39;ve overnighted there twice and would not think a day trip would allow enough time, but if that%26#39;s all you can squeeze in I%26#39;d still do it because CK is a beautiful town and very different from Prague.
You can book these a day ahead either through your hotel or directly with the tour companies. There are kiosks along Na Prizkope and Narodni near Wenceslas square, Tesco and Obecni Dum.

the people like prague sightseeing tours or martin tours which you will see have booths from outside the municipal house in the old town to one day tours to cesky krumlov. They cost though nearly 100 dollars a head with lunch. for six of you it would be much cheaper to hire a station wagon for a day from someone like hertz and do the drive yourself (3 hours drive or so and if you go in the week, there should be easy parking at the back of cesky krumlov castle). Alternatively, you can go by public transport, but with a car you can leave and come back when you like

I just came back from a 3 day trip to Prague. I took a day trip to Cesky Krumlov from Prague. The company I used was premiant city tour guides (http://www.premiant.cz/main.php). I pre-booked as i was worried the tour would be full, especially in the summer months and i am glad I did as the bus was pretty much full.
They were very organised. The trip left at 8.45am arriving at Cesky Krumlov at about 11am. Our guide then walked us through the gardens of the castle (1 hour) and we then went on a tour of the castle interiors (1 hour) and the Baroque theatre (1 hour). Our guide then took us through the historical city centre to lunch. Afterwards, we had about 1 - 1.5 hours of free time to explore before meeting at 4.30pm to walk back to the bus. We left Cesky Krumlov at 5pm and was back in Prague just after 7pm.
Cost was 1,990 CZK, so about £47. Quite expensive but if you have limited time and do not want to try and navigate the buses yourself, it is a good option. Price included a decent lunch (pork chop %26amp; potatoes) at a nice restaurant and the castle %26amp; theatre entrance fees.
The crowd was a bit older (probably due to price). I took my parents and it was mostly their age group including retirees so suited them well. But I also had a great day!

Have any of you been at Karlivi Vari I am going to Prague in August and I have a pre planned one day tour to that place but I%26#39;ve never heard anything about it????
|||
karlovy vary is easily reached by modern public bus (asiana travel and student agency) in just over 2 hours. return fares are about 10 dollars, so you do not need to take a tour there unless you are really keen to visit the moser glass works which are some way out of town

Thank you Peb7 for your answer, what happened is that the travel agent included this trip to Karlovi Vari, on my 5 day trip to Prague (he told me that this is a nice place but I wanted to know what to do there, you know some info!) I don%26#39;t need to pay anything extra for this place, he even included a Prague City Tour and as I asked you before this Hotel Ivis Wenseslas at Via Gregorio XI, that I had been able to find just one comment on. Anyways, I already have a list of restaurants and places that I had picked up from recomendations at the Forum and I really appreciate it!

if your trip to karlovy vary is included then go. it is an excellent day out in the mountains
