We will be in Prague at the end of July.
Any shopping suggestions?
We will need gifts and souvenirs for the family and friends back home.

We%26#39;ve been in Prague for a week. All purchases seem very expensive compared to the U.S. I wanted to buy a porcelain figure of King Wencelaus that would be about $8 in U.S. Was $80 in Prague! Lots of amber and garnet jewelry for sale, but again, it%26#39;s all very pricey. Restaurant food and beer are cheap! Watch all your belongings carefully and carry your passport, credit cards, and cash in a money belt INSIDE your clothes. We were robbed by 3 nice looking, well dressed young men in their 20s. The city is absolutely gorgeous, but the weather is lousy so pack your raincoat!

glass is generally the best present as well as books of photographs of prague. many glass shops in celetna street which runs off the old town square

There is a ton of crystal there if your family and friends like crystal. Marionettes are really popular there also. Stay away from ANY liquids unless you plan to put them inside your suitcase. Otherwise you can%26#39;t carry them onto the plane. I forgot about the strict liquid clause on the airlines and had to dispose of 50 Euro worth of Austrian gourmet vinegar. There was no way I was going to risk my clothes getting balsamic vinegar all over them.
