Drinking Water

Can you drink water straight from a tap in Brno? or is it best to buy bottled water. thanks

Tap water in the Czech Republic is safe to drink. That said, most people buy bottled water simply because the tap water doesn%26#39;t taste very nice.

If you want to buy bottled water the brands Aquila (still) and Mattoni (sparkling) are the best.

It is not possible to be served tapwater in restaurants, so don%26#39;t bother asking. However a 30cl bottle of water in a restaurant is not very expensive and should be between 15-30CZK (£0.30-£0.70).

Many thanks for your reply, I didn%26#39;t know they will not serve tap water in a restaurant.

I drink tap water in Brno every day, ant it is OK. For a little refresh you can also use a little fountain at náměstí Svobody, or new rustless cones at the park of Denisovy sady.
