Good Car Rental Agency In Prague 1?

I am planning a visit to Prague in September and Wanted to rent a car on a Saturday morning for a Day trip out of the City. Can anyone reccomend a good local agency that has weekend hours and would offer an easy return on Saturday night or Sunday morning? Also, if a can%26#39;t return the car Saturday night and need to keep the car until the next morning, any parking suggestions would be appreciated. I am staying at the K+K Hotel Central.

Thanks for your help.

avis and europcar both have offices in the city centre, sixt has an office at the hilton hotel and a local agency, a-rent car has an office at the marriott. on saturday night and sunday morning, most of the parking on the street outside the K%26amp;K central is free (as long as you avoid parking in the spaces ringed by blue lines which are residents).

You may find that hiring for saturday and sunday is exactly the same price as hiring for saturday only. question is where are you planning to go for your day trip, as it may be just as easy and cheaper to go by public transport?

if you hire a car, take the maximum insurance possible as it is more likely someone else without insurance will smash into your car than the other way round. you also need to drive around with your lights on all the time

Thanks for the help. I was planning to try to visit Terezin and Karlovy Vary in one day for a quick whirwind tour of the countryside. I only have a short visit to Prague and wanted to cover both spots in one very long day.

terezin and karlovy vary are easily reachable in a day by car. most of the city centre in karlovy vary is pedestrianised and the police will tow you away if you park in a place without a permit. the nearest public car parks to the centre are on the hill by the savoy westend hotel and outside the grand hotel pupp. both cost less than 150 crowns for the whole day.

Hertz downtown office is at Karlovo namesti 15, open Mo-Su 8-20

Alimex-Dollar-Thrifty is at Bubenské nabrezi 306, next to tram stop Prazska trznice (tram #1, 3, 5, 25)

Mo-Fri 8-19

Sa-Su 8-18

Last week I rented a car (through autoeurope.com) from the Budget office in the Intercontinental Hotel. Great experience, excellent rate. I reserved the car about 2 months in advance of my trip. The rate was around $260 for stick shift, A/C, inclusive, and I had the car for 6 days. Fuel costs ran about $100 for the week; went to Hradec Kralove, Pec Pod Snezkou (and did alot of travel in the mountains), and Kutna Hora. It was great having a car.
