Great Restaurant -- Old Square Across from Astrological Cloc

Want to recommend the outdoor (and also the terrace) restaurant at the Hotel U Prince in the Old Square across from the famous astrological clock. Beautful facility and great place to people watch. If there%26#39;s music in the square, you have the perfect seat. We enjoyed the following:

Duck in a sauce about $13 USD.

Pasta in cheese sauce about $6 (all pastas in this range)

Great pannini sandwiches about $6.

Menu from the terrace is more limited, but provides a great view.

great location restaurant. you do though pay for the location and the u prince has a reputation for hidden charges. you can get a much better meal (absent the location) for the same price elsewhere

I have to agree with you about this place. considering the location, the prices are very reasonable and its great place for people watching.

Peb, we spent out first night in Prague here as we were so late arriving in and it was a good(albeit toursty) start!

was not saying that U prince is not good. the location is perfect - merely commenting as a local that you of course pay for the location, as some people who go to u prince then cannot understand why the meal is twice what they pay elsewhere in the city

I ate there too!!! The butterfish and the steak filet were really good. We missed our connection in Paris and arrived late in Prague. It was one of the closest restaurants to our hotel and we were starving. I thought the food would be so-so, but it was surprisingly good! The salads were amazing there also.
