How bad is the exchange rate from US dollars when in Prague?

We will be staying 3 nights in Prague and 3 in Budapest. We heard the exchange rate from US $$ is horrible. We also were told everything is very expensive.

What has been your experience?

Txs.

I can%26#39;t help with Budapest but I just returned from Prague.

The rate was around $1 to 22K.

As far as expensive - not in Prague.

If you want to just stay around the Old Town Square area the prices may be higher

(500K or $22 for dinner) but if you go a block either way you can find the same thing

for around 120K or $5-$6)

just came back from Prague two weeks ago. dont believe everything you hear. they still use Czech crowns, not the Euro. right now $1 is roughly 20CZK. i found everything to be cheap (compared to the US), from the beer to meals to the metro to concert tix. of course you can eat at overpriced restos on the old Town Square, or stay at a posh hotel...
