Best neighborhoods/street to get localized

Where%26#39;s a good area to hang out for restaurants and bars a little bit away from the tourist traps? If you could be specific that would be great (metro stops, street names, restaurant/bar names).

The area around Andel station seemed like a nice neighborhood. There is a mall,some restaurants but I am not sure about bars.

there%26#39;s good bars as well, try backdoors, na belidle street.

very nice local area is vinohrady, with plenty of good bars, pubs and so on.

around old town square are local bars too, not only tourist traps...

wouldn%26#39;t bother going to andel. just walk on streets away from the old town square or away from malostranske namesti in the castle area and you will find local bars and restaurants almost devoid of tourists

Peb any reccomendations for restaurants on the back streets off Old Town Sq ? The type of place Mrs Peb would like.

try around dlouha street off the old town square. you have la casa agentina (some of the best steaks in town), l%26#39;angolo and da nico (good italian), lary fary (international and excellent meat skewers), kolkovna (famous czech pub on v kolkovne street), escape (czech) on the corner of jabukska and rybna streets and chez marcel (french brasserie) on hastalska street

all mid priced - about 1000 crowns per head with beer for 3 courses

Have been to most of those ,thought you may name somewhere we havent been,I just love the Escape and we have had the same waiter serve us for the last 3 years and he always treats us like old friends which is nice.

torii have you been to either potrefuna husa or bissli, both on bilkova street, the belgian pub, les moules on brehova street, both near the intercontinental hotel, cafe colonial on siroka street, or brasserie m on vladislavova street behind tesco?

if you want somewhere further out, take the 17 tram down the river to vyton and go to oliva. even brewsta our resident prague restaurant reviewer went there and liked it

Have done Les Moules and the Colonial, will try the 2 on Bilkova and Brasserie M, I will look them up tonight.
