Prague to Vienna

Hi,

I am a student backpacker who like to travel from prague to vienna. Can anybody suggest how to travel from prague to vienna in the cheapest and convenient way?

The cheapest option is the Student Agency bus which departs daily at 10:30 and 12:30 from the Florenc bus terminal (metro Florenc, B and C line).

Bus arrives Vienna Praterstern at 16:00 and 18:00).

Price of a one-way ticket is 300 CZK (approx. 11 EUR), ISIC card will give you additional 15% discount.

Another option is Eurolines bus which departs the Florenc bus terminal daily at 8:00 and 17:00.

One-way ticket costs 550 CZK (students 495 CZK). Unlike Student Agency they sell tickets online.

Best price/convenience option is in my opinion the Pendolino train using the %26quot;WIEN SC spezial%26quot; discount. SuperCity trains to Vienna depart from Prague-Holesovice train station (metro Nadrazi Holesovice C line) daily at 8:26 and 10:26. The trip takes just 4 hours.

Price of a one-way ticket is 593 CZK (approx. 21 EUR) using the %26quot;WIEN SC spezial%26quot; discount (limited number of seats on each train). Regular 1-way fare in 2nd class is 914 CZK (32 EUR).

as LKHK rightly says student agency buses are probably the best way if you are backpacking and looking at cost. they operate brand new buses. pendolino is much more expensive. student agencies website is a nightmare is you do not understand czech, but student agency has an office on jecna street near metro ip pavlova where you can buy tickets in advance.
