Hi,
I am traveling to Prague for 4 days in August with my family and i%26#39;m trying to find the best hotel for us. I would like to stay near old town. I%26#39;m ok with doing all the tourist stuff, plus my child is very young. Can anyone please recommend a safe, nice hotel near old town. I%26#39;m looking for a 4 star hotel.
Thanks in advance for your help!

the marriott and renaissance have a typical marriott and reniassance feeling so you could be anywhere but they are next door to eachother, five minutes flat walk from the old town, next door to a supermarket for provisions and also provide babysitting services if you need, and unlike some other hotels are child friendly

Hi vsop01!
I have just run into a new hotel, The Icon, and have been very impressed.
It is in a central but quiet location off Wenceslas Square, a 4 star %26quot;design%26quot; hotel, modern, spot less clean, different. They do have a small massage area with Asian treatments.
What is most impressive though is the big, genuine smile you see on all faces! Very nice, very personal, very welcoming.
If you like modern design, this is a great place to stay.

icon is a good boutique hotel - great for a young couple, but I wouldn%26#39;t take a small kid there. too minimalist, hospital looking, the rooms are small and furniture full of edges a child would bash into. plus the walk is a bit far every day from the old town

a great website for selecting and booking is www.booking.com. Selecting 4-stars and family rooms one finds good hotels being (amongst others) Hotel U Kocku, Tulip Inn Prague Terminus, SuiteHome (apartment) and Hotel Roma.
Others that I would like are Waldstein and Elite, but better make your own choice based on your preferences and the reviews you find there and here.

Have a look at the web page (www.iconhotel.cz)., there are no more sharp edges than in any other hotel room. A place where a child does not have to %26quot;tiptoe%26quot; around other guests, very very relaxed. It is 2 min from Wenceslas Square and close by are a lot of restaurants in the Lucerna passage.

I just returned from Prague. Loved our stay at the Cloister Inn. And the air conditioning worked great in the rooms (which was important given the heat a few weeks ago). The location was great and the staff was helpful.

i could definitely recommend The ICON. Great value for money, well sized rooms, and definitely no sharp edges :-))
