Don Giovanni at The Estates Theatre - Which seat?

I am visiting Prague this month and want to book a ticket to see Don Giovanni at The Estates Theatre. I am going by myself and would like to be in a box seat but am not sure which one? I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks, Ben.

I was in box no11 a few year ago, just on the bend of the theatre a few boxes down from the Royal box, great views, only 3 seats in the box.

you need to understand which row of boxes you want (the boxes are numbered 1 upwards on each tier). the theatre of estates is very small, so it does not matter too much if you are in a box at the back as in larger theatres. the boxes 6 to 11 on the auditorium level (prizemi) are the one%26#39;s at the end of the theatre %26quot;U%26quot; shape and therefore are more head on than at the side. they therefore get the best accoustics

Thanks for you for the posts.

Peb7 - I have just been looking on ticketportal at the seats and have made a choice of two locations. Either Sector II balkón lóže 11 which is the third row of boxes in the middle or Sector I balkón lóže 16, which is the second row of boxes on the bend just down from the middle. The second option is slightly cheaper :) What would you suggest?

Cheers, Ben

i would go for the first balcony rather than the second balcony, even though the seat is on the side. make sure you sit in the first row; otherwise you will need to stand for the whole performance looking over the people sittting in the first row

Thanks for that Peb. I have relooked at the seats for the 1st balcony and there are some more central seats - Sector II.balkón lóže 12. I think they are next to the royal box. There are front seat available so I think I will book one of them.

Cheers, Ben

don%26#39;t book these expecting there to be any royalty present (in fact, you probably won%26#39;t find any locals at the theatre at all - don giovannu plays purely for the tourists). the bohemian kings died out many centuries ago

Now that is a shame. And I was just practicing my royal curtsy as well! Thanks again for your help. I may call on your advice again soon. I leave for Prague on the 15th (next week).
