A Good Dining View in December?

I am going to Prague in december, firstly as a treat for my partners birthday secondly so i can go to the chrsitmas markets. We will be staying at the Riverside and part of our package includes dinner at the Perle de Prague. We will be in Prague for 2 nights and are looking for a dinning option for the Sunday night. I would really like somewhere with a nice view (dont we all) but appricaite being mid december sitting on an open terrance is not an option. So i was hoping for a suggestion of somewhere which perhaps has indoor dinning but with good view from its windows? it goes without mentions that im looking for somewhere which serves good food, not so bothered with price either.

kampa park has a riverside terrace with a wonderful view of the charles bridge which is enclosed in the winter. it is only out of use if there is too much snow to go down the steps to the riverside

The Belleue on smetanovo nabrezi has a good view of the castle and lesser town, good food, not to far away from the hotel.

Best view on Prague is from the TV Tower, which has a restaurant at 200 meters. Not sure about the food, probably not as good as La Perle de Prague, Kampa or Bellevue. Also there has been a scandal last week because they have used a %26quot;tourist menu%26quot; with higher prices for foreigners.

food in the tv tower is dire. worth going for the view, but only go in the morning as in the afternoon when the sun is in the west, you will end up not being able to take any photos with your camera as all the photos will be looking straight at the sun

just had a thought being december it will be very dark when we eat dinner we wont get the best of a good view but im sure some buildings are illuminated up lovely at night?

|||

charles bridge, many of the churches and spires and the castle are illuminated at night. you don%26#39;t need to worry about seeing nothing; the view is impressive

Thank you peb7 could you perhaps advise me of a good local traditional resturant i could try for lunch near the castle?

|||

try lvi dvur which is at the northern entrance of the castle by the tramstop. there is also a restaurant called vikarka next to the st vitus cathedral which looks like a tourist trap but is actually pretty good.

if you are going above the castle, the strahov monastery%26#39;s own beerhall, klasterny pivovar is as good a beerhall in prague as you can get and the food isn%26#39;t bad.

my favourite though is the hotel u krale karla which sits at the bottom of the street running off the front end of the castle where ke hradu street runs into nerudova street and down to malostranske namesti
