What%26#39;s going on in Prague that makes it so busy in October? In other countries October is a lower season and hotels are less crowded and less expensive. In Prague that%26#39;s not the case...can someone tell me why? I%26#39;m just curious.
where do you get that Prague is so busy in October? Which part of October?
Like most city destinations, Prague%26#39;s tourist season is all year round
Specifically the whole month of October. Whenever I look at hotel websites they all classify October as the High Season. The only other higher priced season is called %26quot;TOP%26quot; which are holidays like Christmas and New Years.
This does not mean that Prague is busy, it means that some hotels (not all Prague hotels classify October as high season) want to charge high season rates in October. After October, the temperature drops dramatically and so do prices.
Prague hotels are not unique in classifying October as high season. In Venice, for example; the high season runs from February to October
Venice is also much farther south so I understand that October would be warmer and still in high demand. I thought Prague would be very cool in October. Oh well, I don%26#39;t mind because I just booked my trip into Prague on October 15. First time in Eastern Europe and I%26#39;m excited to see it.
temperature should be around 55 degrees F in mid October and if you are lucky it could be higher
We were in Prague last year and it%26#39;s worth it to pay high season prices. We didn%26#39;t have the crowds, but the weather was glorious. We ate almost every meal outside as it was sunny and in the high 60s.
Some people can get a little prickly when you call the Czech Republic part of Eastern Europe. Central Europe is more accurate. Prague is west of Vienna, after all. Just trying to be helpful, not didactic.
kayakerlynne you don%26#39;t say when you came to prague last year and the temperature was in the high 60%26#39;s. do you mean that you came in october?
Yes, we were in Eastern Europe from the 1st to the 19th and had beautiful weather the entire time. We were in Prague around the 10th.
peb,
I totally undertstand what tmynatt meant.
Can you name me a few hotels which drop their prices Oct?
I myself would to go to Prague in Oct, but all the hotels I%26#39;ve checked don%26#39;t drop their prices till Nov 1st.
