Hi All,
Just trying to make plans for a day trip for some wine tasting at the start of August (group of 14).
Some time ago research on the DPP website (and posts on various forums) I%26#39;m sure said there is (was) a direct bus from Nadrazi Holesovice to Melnik however I don%26#39;t seem to be able to come up with such a route now. I could of course be just a case of me not being able to see the beach for all the sand !
Would anybody be able to confirm the Bus number(s) for getting to Melnik ?
Many thanks in advance.
Regards
JC

Buses to Melnik go from Nadrazi Holesovice every ½ hour on weekdays. They go from stand 10. It takes about 45 mins and costs 38 CZK.
To plan your trip go to www. idos.cz and click on the Union Jack to get the site in English

Thanks for the prompt reply Pengiun !
Yep, I%26#39;ve since found some timetable info that we printed out and it was via the IDOS website rather than using the Prague Public Transport Journey finder which looks to use the IDOS engine but only shows their own actual routes/services and not those of others.
Problem solved :-)
Cheers

melnik is not in prague which is why the prague transport authority website does not have the times

Yep, cheers PEB for the confirmation.
It was one of those %26quot;I%26#39;m sure I got it from here%26quot; moments though !

as the buses go so regularly, you don%26#39;t need to book them in advance - with such a large group some of you may need to stand
the lobkowicz wine from melnik is some of the best wine in the czech republic, especially the ludmilla variety. With the restrictions on taking liquids back on planes to the UK, with so many of you, lobkowicz should be able to ship a case or cases to the UK and you can split them there

Thanks PEB - we made it OK and had a good trip and tour - a tasting session in the cellars of 12 wines, some cheeses and bread all for a little over 5.00GBP each. Good day out.
We had no problem on the bus either going or coming but quite full on the return.
Just a note for anybody else searching in the future if you take the Tram to Holesovice (or come out of the wrong Metro exist) the bus/coach stands you need are on the other side of the road to the North by the Railway station.

easiest thing to do is follow the signs for %26quot;bus - airport express%26quot; or %26quot;bus - zoo%26quot; when you come out the metro and that will lead you to the bus station. glad you made it, as melnik is a good day out
