I plan to take a day train from Krakow to Prague and from Pague to Budapest because I really enjoy train travel and want this to be a leisurely trip (no rushing from airports or weird uncomfortable overnight train berths). Can anyone tell me how the day trains work for luggage. If I have a wheeled suitcase are the aisles wide enough for it? I admit I am not a light packer so I expect to have one small carry-on wheelie suitcase and possibly a shoulder bag. Is the luggage kept close by or do you have to stow it at the end of the train somewhat out of sight? I wasn%26#39;t sure if these trains were like commuter rails or really built for long distance travelers. If I visit the bathrooms or food car would be luggage be safe or do I need to always carry it with me.
Thanks for your help.

depends on the carriage and the class you travel. most of the carriages have individual compartments and you store the luggage in the rack over the seat. other carraiges are the open type where large luggage is stored in racks at the end of each carriage, but for smaller luggage, there are racks above the seats and space between the seats. I do not think you need to take all your luggage to the toilets, but you should not leave valuables unaccompanied when you leave your seat
