Prague Weather in October

I am planning a visit the first week of October, should I expect go weather.

I am also considering booking my lodging at the St. George Hotel and would like feedback on the location and proximity to the sites of interest.

Many thanks!

I have been in October before and found the weather to be cool, but nowadays i would say that the weather would still be mid/late teens (if not warmer - thanks Global Warming). I would pack a rain jacket just incase, and maybe the odd sweater or two. Its so unpredictable here in Europe, the UK was supposed to have its best summer to date, but instead we have thunderstorms and severe flooding. Meanwhile the Meditteranean are expecting soaring temperatures with forest fires. Just amazing the difference.

Just pack some good walking shoes is my advice!

As for your accommodation - not sure on that hotel as i have not heard of it but i am sure there are many people on here that have.

Enjoy Prague.

as i remember, weather in october has been beautiful for the last 3 years. guess you call it indian summer, still sunshine, temperature around 20 degress.

st. george is by foot 10-15 min to wenceslas, 30 min to old town square. 24 hours public transport around the corner (tram 22/23 to the castle). quite a busy street though...

would not walk to the city centre more than once. walk is down a very busy polluted street and when you come back it is all uphill. as heinokules says, 15 minutes away from the hotel is a busy tram station where trams go direct to the old town and castle area. as you would be sensible to take this all the time, buy a 3 or 7 day tram pass at the airport when they arrrive, as this will make traveling by public transport easier (they speak english at the airport unlike in the nearest metro station from where you would need to buy tickets)

When we stayed there we always walked down to the town and got a taxi back, it is a very nice hotel and the Evergreen restaurant a few doors down is very nice but small and I would advise booking.
