You walk across the bridge and take tram # 17 down the river. It stops beside charles bridge and and one or two more stops you%26#39;ll get close to old town square.
Walking to blocks away from the river you could take tram # 9 which stops almost on Wenceslas square.
Nearby is metro Andels as well, but trams are more convenient and they run through the night, blue number.
Don%26#39;t take taxis, don%26#39;t change money, mind your bags and wallets, rest will be great.

if possible get arthur frommer%26#39;s book on prague and the czech republic it should answer most of your questions. a good guidebook is a must when you are traveling if not frommer try fodor%26#39;s but take a guidebook also when you arrive first thing go to the tourist office for their brochures and any questions you might have. have a good trip. (i%26#39;m going in september)

Hi Alan,
I would say don%26#39;t bother with Wen Sq (unless you%26#39;re a teenager who wants to buy a rasta hat). Old Town square is nice, Mala Strana area too and the park at the top of Petrin Hill. If you%26#39;re going to take a taxi always order one by phone (eg have a coffee and ask the waiter to order one to pick you up from the cafe) instead of from the street where they can be cowboys.

Hello all,
In 2 of August I will be in Prague, can somebody tell me where can I find a garage or a pay parking? Can you tell me please the prices?I will arrived with my car and I want to let it in to a safe place. I will stay on Jaromirova street.

I know one with parking attentend at the end of Lublanska street, not too far away...? It%26#39;s 100 CzK per day, I have used it for friends. The catch is, you may have to repark the car daily into a new spot on the same ground, because they have many regulars.
Also very reasonable is the garage behind Karlovo namesti but it may be too far away.
Nearby is parking in the Congress Center, don%26#39;t know how much and if it%26#39;s guarded...

Thanks a lot for your help.
Does anyone else know something about Congress parking?

for the janacek, tram 12 about 10 minutes walk away takes you to the castle area. for the old town, either walk across the bridge and catch tram 17 or from the same stop that the tram 12 goes from, catch tram 9 to the old town. you will probably need public transport every day, so buy yourself either a 3 or 7 day tram ticket at the airport when you arrive as you cannot buy tram tickets on the trams themselves.
for jaromirova street, the congress centre car park is no good - jaromirova is at the bottom of the valley and the congress centre is at the top and is also expensive. you should be able to park your car for free on a side street nearby the apartments. if you really do want to park your car off the street, there is a car park next to the na folimance sports hall on na folimance street about 10 minutes walk from jaromirova (and unlike the congress centre or lublanska, at the valley level and not at the top of the hill)

Thanks a lot for this information, it is very helpfull for me.
