Restaurants in Prague

Can anyone name a few restaurants in Prague which don%26#39;t rip tourists off?

Are there Italian, French or Chinese restaurants in Prague?

Kogo in Slovansky Dum (open kitchen, more energy) or on Havelska (more intimate) does Mediterranean - pastas, seafood, steaks. Very popular, good atmosphere.

Aromi also does Italian on Manesova. Fresh seafood, but just be careful when ordering fish by weight (per 100g) prices can escalate fast.

Trattoria Cicala at Zitna 43 - not the greatest location on a busy road near Wenceslas Square. But gets a lot of positive comments for food.

Trattoria Rocca at Vinohradska at Vinohradska 32, near Wenceslas Square. Most moderately priced - decent - run by two Italian women.

La Provence Restaurant %26amp; Brasserie. Štupartská 9. Expensive, but good.

L%26#39;Ardoise on Bruselska 7 in Vinohrady

Brasserie M on Vladislavova 17 has some good things, awarded Bib Gourmand by Michelin, price not crazy, but not cheap. Don%26#39;t love it.

La Perle de Prague - very expensive

Chinese - Just about forget about it in Prague, especially if you are from California. Very few places serve anything that is not a bit of a strange hybrid. However, China Fusion is expensive, near Wenceslas Square, but might be the best there is:

Outside the center there is Hong Kong at Letenske Namesti 5

Or Huang He at Vrsovicka 1

Brewsta,

Thank you! I really enjoy reading your blog.

If you can survive there, on a long term basis, I think I will be OK for a week. :-)

Gelato -- wow! I didn%26#39;t know you have gelato in Prague.

Call me naive, but I think Prague would be a wonderful place to have to %26quot;survive.%26quot; I%26#39;m sure some have the same attitude about California, too.

You%26#39;ll be okay. There%26#39;s no place like home, but presumably, that%26#39;s why one ventures out to experience new and interesting places.

Check out a guidebook, too, for some restaurant rankings and tips.

I lived in Atlanta before Prague, which has a great restaurant scene. It was a little rough when I first moved here, but Prague has been changing by leaps and bounds in recent years.

I%26#39;m always glad to share the fun.

vteotl brewsta%26#39;s choices are good, but if you tell us where you are staying, we can maybe find you a good restaurant near your hotel
