BRNO to Prague question

Hello,

My family and I would like to surprise my mother with a trip to her ancestorial home, a small village east of BRNO. There will not be much to see/do there, but it%26#39;s more for the experience of saying she%26#39;s seen her %26quot;homeland%26quot;.

Of course we would like to spend more time in Prague exploring and experiencing the culture. If we fly into BRNO, can we rent car to go to the village? (about 45 min. away from the airport supposedly)

Can we then take a train to Prague?

Any advice would be MUCH appreciated!!

Thanks!

that%26#39;s the car rental link:

you can take the train to prague but buses are faster and cheaper and go at least every hour. choose the connection you%26#39;d like here:

Flying to Brno from the UK means flying with Ryanair from the complete zoo of the Stansted airport. You have been warned.

If I were you I%26#39;d fly to PRG rent a car there (better choice of both rental companies and airlines*) drove to wherever you want to go outside of Brno (Prague-Brno 2 hours by car), return to PRG got rid of the car and visit Prague.

*It%26#39;s worth checking out not only %26quot;low costs%26quot; but also regular airlines they often have same or better deals, e.g. www.czechairlines.co.uk

as heinokules says, only ryanair fly from the UK to brno. there is much to see in the brno area - castles, lakes and the wine growing region. brno itself has few attractions.

as said by others above, I would fly to and stay in prague and then take a day trip hiring a car to the brno region. By car, brno is only just over 2 hours by car.
