driving to prague from paris

Hi there ,we will be driving from paris to prague late september, with a one night stop in germany just wondering if anyone has any suggestions, best route, should we take more time suggested stops along the way . Thanks

we drove through the Bayern Forest to munich. That was a very nice drive through forest and quaint little towns. We crossed the border at Bayerisch Eisenstein and then went on to Munich by train.

We looked into renting a car for the entire trip, but it was too wasteful. It should be an awesome trip. Stop in Munich if you can. It was awesome.

E50 from Paris to Prague, 1084 km I believe, I have done the trip more times than I can remember, the fastest in just under 7 hours. The last time about 11.

if you budget for 12 hours city centre to city centre, you can therefore do the journey in a day. i go the route rozvadov - nurnburg - heilbronn - saarbrucken - metz

if you want an overnight stop look at either heidelburg or baden baden in germany (both lovely towns) or stop overnight in luxembourg

Thank you all so much, very useful as we don%26#39;t have a clue

I only did this once, but the other way. I took the same route Peb recommends. I would say to stop over as it%26#39;s a long drive and in late September you could be driving in rain etc. Nuremburg is about right to give you a shortish drive to Prague the next morning.

even better past nurnburg just before the czech / german border is a wonder hilltop bavarian town called leuchtenberg, about 5 kilometeres off the nurnburg to prague highway. there are a couple of good inn / hotels there and the place is a joy to spend an hour walking around before carrying on your journey
