Tickets: Prague to Vienna

I would like to buy 2 senior tickets from Prague to Vienna.

I have seen lots of advice on the rough cost, how quick etc. Most

advice mentions buying from a station in Prague.

Does anyone know how I can buy them from London? If I can%26#39;t buy them from here, can I reserve them and then pay for them when I get there?

I have found one website, but the buying page is in Austrian, not English.

[They then told me to send credit card details by email. Obviously not.]

Do you know if there are discounts for over 60s? Do I need a senior railcard, or just passport to prove my age?

Many thanks

buying from london will cost more than buying from here. buying from the austrian railways website will cost more than buying from czech railways.

2nd class single trip is about 38 euros (more on the fast pendolino trains). senior citizens should get a discount, but I think, but maybe wrong that the discount is only available for czech residents. you should alk anyway and bring your passport.

my advice is to buy a ticket from either of the two railway stations, or from the city centre offices of czech railways at least the day before. if you do want your ticket bought before you come, look at either www.cedok.cz or www. wasteels.cz who will sell you tickets either at the same price you would buy at the station or not much more

Many thanks for your help and for the websites. I have had a look at both. Unfortunately I can only speak English a bit of Spanish and a bit of French.

You wouldn%26#39;t happen to know of any phone numbers I could call?

click on the union jack on the left hand side of the cedok homepage (halfway down) and you will get the website in english

There are senior discounts (70 years and older) but you have to have a dicount card issued by the Czech Railways. Annual fee for the discount card is 600 CZK so it is not worth getting one for just one trip because the discount is 25% off the regular int%26#39;l ticket fare so you%26#39;d pay 600 CZK to get a discount 227 CZK for a one-way ticket.

It makes more sense to ask about the WIEN SCspezial discount for the SuperCIty trains (8:26 and 10:26 departure from Prague-Holesovice). In that case you%26#39;d pay 593 CZK instead of regular 906 CZK on EC trains or 1106 on SC trains.

on the page you find info and number to purchase tickets by phone.
