bobsled in Prague

Prague is now my city in the world for a multitude of reasons (I%26#39;ve visited 35 countries so far.) I was there in August 2007 and I was able to find a great bobsled park on the edge of town. It has a 1km stainless steel bobsled track where you can get cruising up to 60 km/hr. It had a beer garden balcony area, a zip-line ride, and a climbing wall. My wife and I got there early on a weekday and had the whole place to ourselves. Cost is about $3 a ride. We down 11 times. I couldn%26#39;t get enough of this action.

Here is their website:

It was very easy to get to. Buy a day pass then:

1) Take the subway %26quot;B%26quot; line to the Palmovka stop

2) Exit the Palmovka station through the bus transit center exit

3) Take a bus 140, 187, or 233 to the Kelerka stop (2nd stop)

4) The bobsled park is right there next to the bus stop

5) Catch the return 140, 187, or 233 bus across the street back to the Palmovka station and then hop on the subway back into town.

it is good, but beware that someone was killed on there a month or so ago. stopped halfway down as she was tired and someone at high speed ploughed into the back of her

Mercy, very nice of boywonder, in his first post, to let us know about the bobsleigh, I am sure he was not expecting peb%26#39;s post.! I rear that, the place does have a bit of an iffy reputation for poor supervision and several people have been badly hurt.. The do love the stag parties coming and they are not too concerned if they have been drinking or not...

They have one of these slides in New Hampshire (US) at Attitash as well. When my sister was 15 she ignored the slow sign as a typical teen would do. Her sled flew of the edge and she ended up sliding face down several feet down the concrete slide.

Lucky for her there were not broke bones but every part of her body was scraped including face, arms, legs...lots of blood %26amp; pain!! 25 years later she is still traumatized.
