Family Trip to Prague & Slavkov

Hi

We are going to Prague for 3 nights in a couple of weeks time. we are staying in an appartment in Vinohrady. We have 2 kids 10 %26amp; 8. one of them a very fussy eater. Can anyone recommend anywhere to eat in the area?

Also what are the attractions that would appeal most to kids (both boys)?

After Prague we are driving down to Slavkov for a wedding where we will have 4 days - can anyone recommend any interesting places to visit en route and while we are in Slavlov area?

Thanks

ambiente on manesova street will be able to cater for kids. also try pizzeria grossetto on namesti miru which does more than pizza%26#39;s (and officially does the best pizzas in town) and roca on vinohradska street is another good restaurant.

slavkov is austerlitz, so visiting the battlefield is worth doing. the castles at valtice and lednice are also worth visiting. slavkov is also less than an hour from vienna so it is worth visiting there

About 40 minutes drive from Slavkov, there are some really cool caves in the Moravian Karst.

It is called the Macocha Abyss, and it has some pretty unique features. Part of the trip through the cave is on a boat on an underground river.

Thing is, it got very popular with tour bus groups. Loads of Asian groups bussing around out there in the middle of the countryside. If you want to go through on the boat, need to book ahead.

Thank you for your help. We are staying at an apartment in Korunni Dvur (an old Brewery)Prague 10. Can you advise if this is a safe area, any streets to avoid at night? We wandered into the wrong area on a recent trip to Vancouver, so want to avoid this time.

Also quickest way to get to old town

Many thanks

korunni dvur is a safe area. new complex five minutes walk from the nearest metro station where the green line metro takes you straight into the centre. there is a supermarket in the korunni dvur complex

I live near there. It is safe. Nearest metro is Jiriho z Podebrad. There is a cafe with fancy thick hot chocolate in the Korunni Dvur complex that I think your kids will like.

Mozaika is a very good restaurant near there on Nitranska.

There is also Portrefena Husa, which is an upscale restaurant pub on Vinohradska - a 5-10 minute walk. They have a no smoking section and serve things like big burgers and ribs as well as Czech specialties.

The Flora Mall is also nearby on Vinohradska, though I don%26#39;t find the mall shopping great in Prague. Have McD%26#39;s, KFC, and pizza there if the kids require.
