What's the better hotel to book? Boscolo Carlo IV or the 987

Hi

I%26#39;m looking to book either hotels in Prague for late November. Can anyone tell me if they%26#39;ve stayed at either, or what one would be best to book? Obviously one%26#39;s a 4* and ones a 5*. But on TA the 987 scores highest??

Thanks,

MunchieUK

Boscolo IV is far better than the 987.

987 suffers from tram noise down the street

Tripadvisor reviews should sometimes be taken with a pinch of salt, as different people posting have different expectations. people going to the Boscolo will have higher expectations than people going to the 987. Boscolo has faults, it is not a smooth 5 star hotel, like say the Mandarin Oriental, but if the prices are comparable, it wins hands down

Boscolo tends to surprise with lousy service and a cold pool. The building is supperb and when you are lucky you get one of the larger rooms. 987 is completely different, modern design, small rooms, on the tram side rather noisy. The two hotels are opposite from each other.

It is difficult to help you with suggestions, as you do not say what you expect.

Hi Both

Thanks - I normally travel 5* everywhere i go. I do like a nice room with nice surroudnings. Do you know how far the hotels are from Charles Bridge and the main centre?

Also - we are thinking of going the first weekend in December, do you know what the weather will be like and whether the christmas decorations %26amp; markets will be there?

Thanks!

if you normally travel five star, then 987 will not be appropriate. boscolo is 15 minutes walk from the old town.

martina is correct as usual. boscolo building has a wow effect, but the service sometimes fails to deliver. try looking also at the four seasons or ventana hotel on the old town side of the river and the mandarin oriental, aria, alchhymist, santini residence or u zlate studne hotels on the castle side of the river

december can be snow, but the temperature will be around zero. christmas markets run in the first weekend of december
