People usualy like to know how much your budget will beso they can point you in the right dirrection.

the castle side of the river is much quieter and safer for new years eve than the old town side. do not know what you mean by %26#39;not too expensive ...%26#39; for some people this may mean 100 pounds a night, for others, 250 pounds a night may not be too expensive. the constans has good reviews on this site and is only 10 minutes walk from the charles bridge. the u karlova mostu and the residence lundborg are even nearer. try also looking at the castle steps apartments which many people have commented favourably on this site and which do provide breakfast

|||

Peb ,is the Karlov Mostu the hotel with the lovely pubs 1and 2?

|||

it is certainly a hotel next to the charles bridge (on na kampe street) with a decent pub on the ground floor (don%26#39;t know about %26quot;1 and 2%26quot;)

think it is an archibald hotel in which case the website is www.archibald.cz

Yes thats it they have a pub1 at the front of the hotel that leads directly out at the back through a beer garden to the river where we were able to board a riverboat,pub 2 is round the side they are both charming places with roaring fires and typical czech cuisine.

I just assumed that they were the same pub, but with different rooms. it is a good place and reasonably priced

P.S I have just remembered I put a picture on, standing outside pub 1of the place on My Tripadvisor in January..

|||

before or after the beer?

|||

torii yep lovely view of charles bridge from some of the rooms, would be a good choice for New Year.
