Transfer from the airport to city center runs between 500 and 800 CzK (Koruns). Some taxis are better than others: AAA is good. You can find them on the internet. Also check out this link:

Here is a link to information about Christmas 2007 events:

Christmas markets in the Old Town Square (Staromestske Namesti) the entire month of December.

I%26#39;ll reinforce what mdwest answered. December is a great time to visit Prague. The tourist hoards are gone, and there are lots of activities leading up to Christmas. My first visit to Prague was in December (1998) and it was magical. Snow makes the castle, old town, and male strana really special and even more pictuesque. Be prepared for cold weather, though.

Be careful of the taxi drivers. They%26#39;re infamous for ripping of tourists. One even bilked the mayor (posing as a tourist) a year or so ago.

taxis from the airport are fine and are regulated. not more than 600 crowns from the airport to the albatros. the yellow AAA taxis you will see outside the airport door are slightly cheaper than the grey fix taxis also outside the airport door, but if there are no yellow taxis at 11pm, there will be grey one%26#39;s so don%26#39;t bother waiting in the cold for a yellow taxis

botel is in walking distance from the city centre. main christmas market is in the old town square

beware of the icebergs floating down the river if you are staying on a botel in december
