Prague - area to stay

Hi.

We are(2 couples) planning to stay in Prague Sept 23-Sep 30 2007.

I am looking for a 2 bedroom appartment with a terrace and a nice view in the Old Town.

Where else in Prague besides the Old Town would you recommend us to stay - I am not familiar with a Prague layout.

Thanks a lot!

Mala Strana is quiet and nice to stay in. I%26#39;d personally avoid Wenceslas square area, too busy and commercial for me.

We stayed in gorgeous apartment (2 bedrooms, 2 doubles) in the Castle area. Just back. The Castle Steps are the name of the company and have many rooms/apartments spread throughout this area. Ours was very newly renovated (v v old building), and perfect for us. Fresh, bright, clean and the office is in the same building. New kitchen/bathroom, everything, a bonus. Its on Nerudova street which is a beautiful street just under the castle and tourists come to just walk through it. Breakfast was in another building but not far at all. Simple but wholesome veg. food. There is also a terrace on the roof, but too cold when we were there, it overlooks the large, wooded park. Rates very good. Our rooms were called Geranium/Hyacinth (they can also be let separately).

as well as the castle steps which has good reviews on this site, look at some of the folowing companies who others have posted on this site as using for apartments

question is do you really need a terrace with a view of the old town in september? is the additional cost of this really worth it, bearing in mind the limited time you will spend in the apartment?
