Not sure if we can do it all - help!!

Thank you everyone for your help so far. I have traveled much of Europe, and lived in France for a while. Prague is top on my list of new places to experience. However, as my boyfriend and I are planning our trip, I am forced to accept that we are trying to do too much, and something needs to be eliminated.

We have a total of 10 full days in Europe. We wish to visit:

Munich/Bavaria

Salzburg %26amp; nearby villages

Vienna

Prague

We were thinking of cutting Vienna, but as I explore the travel options from Prague to Munich and the time involved, I%26#39;m beginning to think that Prague may have to wait for a different time for a visit, as Vienna just fits better geographically....Does anyone have any other thoughts or suggestions as to what should be cut or how to make this happen? Munich has to stay.. that%26#39;s the BF%26#39;s first choice..

I also don%26#39;t want to try to visit so many places that we don%26#39;t have enough time to truly enjoy them..

We visited Europe twice in the last 6 years and spent time in all the areas you mentioned. I think you are absolutely correct in saying your present plan is too ambitious for a 10 day trip.

Our first trip included Salzburg, Vienna, and Budapest.

On our last trip we spent 3 days in Munich and then we took the overnight train from Munich to Prague. After 4 days in Prague. We then moved on to Salzburg and the surrounding area for a few days. Salzburg is much smaller than the other cities so it won%26#39;t require as much time touring the city itself. But I would definetely include it in your journey if you have never visited.

Now as to choosing between Vienna and Prague, that is a tough one. Just know that the culture and architecture in Prague is very different than any of the others places you mentioned. Good luck.

I think you are right, safe Prague for another trip. You can combine that with Berlin for example, including Dresden.

I would cut out munich and bavaria. unless your real aim is to go to neuschwanstein castle, then munich is by far the worst of the four places in terms of things to see. if you have 10 days, 3 days in prague, 3 days in vienna, 3 days in salzburg (which can include a day trip either to neuschwanstein or to munich - 2 hours by train from salzburg) is easily possible. you can then even have a spare day, to place where you want.

alternatively, 3 days prague, 3 days vienna, 2 days salzburg and 2 days munich will be a lot of transfers but it is doable
