My friend %26amp;amp; I hope to visit Prague for a week-end in mid October as a highlight of our 60th birthday year! We have suddenly got cold feet (sorry for the pun) about the possibility that it could be very cold indeed. I know weather is unpredictable lately, but if it is likely to be sub-zero we need to know. Also, we have been sussing out hotels and the Ramada on Wenceslas Square looks reasonable, anyone any ideas or advice? This is the first time I%26#39;ve done this, so I am looking forward to reading any replies.

mid October should be between 10 and 15 degrees. no snow - not much colder than ireland at the time of year. come
Read the mixed reviews of the Ramana on the reviews section of this site under %26#39;prague hotels%26#39;. decent hotel, but wenceslas square is so grotty that I wouldn%26#39;t want to have to walk down it at least twice a day every day

Thank you for your prompt reply. Now we can confirm our holiday over the week-end.

read the point about wenceslas square. full of tatty shops, low life bars and after dark, people pushing adult entertainment and stag parties do you really want that for a 60th birthday trip? stay instead in a quieter area in the old town or on the castle side of the river

Indeed I strongly suggest Mala Strana on the castle side. Nice, quiet, picturesque. You can make a selection at www.booking.com .
