Hello!!
Visiting Brno in September for a day or two... can any one recommend anywhere interesting to go? And how long would we need to make the best of Brno, would a day suffice?
Also, when are the festivals? I heard there was a wine festival in Brno in September?
Thanks!

Where to go in Brno? It depends on what interests you. You can see some gentle piece of architecture. In my opinion the best one is villa Tugendhat in Černopolní street. Built in 1928 according to the design of Mies van der Rohe. Guided tours through the building are also available. For more info see www.tugendhat-villa.cz/html.en/index.html
Visiting castle Špilberk is also good choice. There you can see a casemate, formerly used as a prison. In the castle there also takes place some exhibitions (eg. one large exhibition dedicated to modern architecture in Brno).
If you would like to swim, I can recommend you an almost new swimming pool at Kraví hora. Both indoor and outside swimming-pools are there. Not far from in is a observatory. At evenings there is opportunity to see some stars by telescope.
In spite of I like wine, I don%26#39;t know about any important wine festival in Brno. You may heard about large festival in Mikulov (about 45 min%26#39;s from Brno by car). You can buy some good wine in Brno in one of winestores. I would recommend you one in Černopolní street (not far from mentioned villa Tugendhat). It%26#39;s name is %26quot;Perkmistr%26quot;, house no.55.
If you%26#39;ll write some of your interests, I will find some more things to do in Brno.
