Hotel Absolut in Prague

I%26#39;ve just booked a 3 night stay at Hotel Absolut in Prague - going this weekend. I%26#39;ve never been to Prague before so if anyone can give me any advice on the main sites, eating and drinking out!! and if anyone has stayed here recently - are there any places to eat or any bars near the hotel. Can you walk into the main area of prague from the hotel or is it too far out? Also transfers from the airport - are taxis the best option? thanks

look at the hotel reviews section on this site under %26#39;prague hotels%26#39;. there are 4 good reviews. hotel is outside the centre and across the river from the hotel practically opposite the international rail station. so there are not too many decent places to eat or drink nearby. you need to catch metro or tram to the city centre and so you will be well to buy a 3 day public transport card.

easiest way from the airport to the hotel is to catch the Airport Express bus from the airport which goes directly to holesovice station down the street from the hotel. bus goes every 30 minutes. cost is 45 crowns as opposed to over 600 crowns for a taxi which goes the same route

Thanks for that..the 3 day public transport card sounds a good idea - can i get this at the airport and roughly how much??

the prague transport authority office is to the right of the airport exit door once you have passed through customs, where you see the sign %26#39;metro - tram - bus%26#39;. cost is 220 crowns but it does not cover the airport express bus for which you pay and extra 45 crowns. the 3 day card is valid for 72 hours from when you first stamp it (your first journey after the airport express bus)
