Hotel Imperial: Reopened, Location?

Just ran across their site which says they%26#39;re finally open after the renovation.

Has anyone stayed there or seen the updated hotel?

How is the location? Their site says .2km from Old Town Square. Map sites say a good bit farther. We want to be very close to the Square.

Any news, suggestions greatly appreciated.

I walked by the other day and it is, indeed open. I don%26#39;t know much about the hotel itself. It is on a fairly busy commercial street.

The restaurant is quite unique for its style, perhaps you%26#39;ve seen pictures, though the menu looks fairly ordinary.

Perhaps it is not .2 kms from Old Town Square, but it is only about a 10 minute walk to there on an interesting street.

It is in a good location for sightseeing, 5 minute walk to Obecni Dum -- Namesti Republiky and a 10 minute walk to Wenceslas Square.

For good food near the hotel, I like Cafe Dinitz on the same street. Historic art deco interior, live music, often Cuban, or a DJ in the evening.

on na porici street which runs from the old town. they have refurbished the tiles very well although it does not have a luxury feel. if you stay there you will want a room at the back as there is a junction of two tramlines directly outside the hotel, which will mean that light sleepers will not get too much sleep.

as they have just opened, you may find some attractive opening offers

They sent me an email when they opened but the price was very expensive and that was just for the roombut it looks lovely and after seeing it being renovated it was nice to see the finished article.

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to a great trip.

I%26#39;m leaning more towards Grand Hotel Bohemia or Grand Hotel Praha. Both have good reivews and good locations. Probably Bohemia to be a bit off the beaten (aka noisy) late night tourist path yet still quite close.

Any thoughts on those two hotels?

Best regards,

if you take the refurbished rooms in the grand hotel bohemia, these would probably be the best. the grand hotel praha is nice and is right on the square. both are in a different class to the imperial. you should though look at the reviews of both hotels on the reviews section of this site under %26#39;prague hotels%26#39;

I would go for the Bohemia I love taking a peak in when I go past!!!!

Try to get a room on the 7th floor towards the tyn church, the views are magic. And don%26#39;t forget to have a look at the ballroom of the hotel, it is fab.
