Train to Prague

Hey,

I%26#39;m traveling from Berlin to Prague and then Prague to Venice. I have a 2-month Eurail Global Pass that is unusable in the Czech Republic. What is the best way to travel in this leg of my journey? Train/bus to border of Czech and then bus/train to the next destination? If anyone has any cheap options, they would be much appreciated.

at berlin station, buy a ticket from bad schandau (the last german station before the border) to prague and stay on the same train - i.e. do not get off, as you may need to wait 2 hours or so for the next train

at prague, buy a ticket from prague to summerau, the first station in austria. beware, the direct prague to venice train is a night train and it is likely that you will need to pay a supplement over your rail pass to have a sleeper bed / couchette

Trains are not very expensive in the Czech Republic. If you have to pay for them in order to get across Czechia I doubt if it costs that much. buses at www.eurolines.com

but at www.cd.cz I see that a 600 kilometer train trip would cost 400 CZK (20 US Dollars) (for that you can travel just 100 km in my country), so I think you just should pay extra if your pass doesn%26#39;t cover the Czech Rep.

but pay extra before you travel, as said above. buying from the ticket collector when you do not have a valid ticket generally involves a penalty fare
