Are both Koruna and Euro accepted in Prague and which one is
most readily accepted?
|||
like, switzerland, the Czech Republic has a national currency
this is called the Czech crown.
why would payment in a different currency to the national currency be more readily accepted?

peb makes a good point, but I%26#39;ve always found that they are happy to accept Euro at the currency exchange points.

Well that might be very well true considering what a rip-off their exchange rates often are.
Anyway, swingy%26#39;s profile says Geneva therefore it makes NO SENSE for him/her to exchange CHF to EUR and then to CZK or end up paying with Euros at unfavorable rate.
There is a general agreement here on TA that in Prague the best option is to withdraw CZK cash from bank ATMs.

So then, I%26#39;d better get the Crowns from the ATM in Prague instead of changing my euro%26#39;s in Holland? Then I%26#39;d get the best rate?

Depends what exchange rate they will offer you and how much your bank charges you for cash withdrawal abroad.
During my travels around Europe I don%26#39;t remeber ever seeing a favorable exchange rate for CZK. Maybe because it%26#39;s a relatively rare currency!?
As a reference you might want to use this website:
www.exchange.cz
Look under the column %26quot;valuty do 100 000,- Kč%26quot;
nakup = buy
prodej = sell

of course any czech exchnage office will be happy to accept euros to convert them into czech crowns. they will also be happy to accept swiss francs to exchange as well. ATM%26#39;s are generally seen as better value for local currency and there are ATM%26#39;s at the airport when you arrive. I would alsways advise bringing some euros (or in swingy%26#39;s case, swiss francs) just in case my card does not work or it is lost.
before you use and ATM abroad, make sure though you know from your bank what the bank fees will be. the fees are generally based per transaction, so it makes little sense using an ATM twice when you could have drawn the same amount out in one go
